Pentecost is the day in our church calendar that marks the birth of the Christian church. At the first Pentecost, the Holy Spirit, in the form of doves or tongues of fire, descended upon the disciples and gave them the courage to spread their faith. In remembrance of this event, we dress ourselves (and our sanctuary) in the color red. Here you can see red ribbons waiting for our congregation to arrive! This year, our Pentecost worship service will include a baptism and the addition of three new members. Following the service, we have refreshments in the courtyard. And following that, Reverend Karen Estes will be officially installed as our installed pastor. A reception follows.
Join us for this day of special blessings!
