Sunday, August 30, 2020 was our first worship service with Rev. Dr. Jim Gill, our Interim Pastor - and his guitar! His sermon was titled, "Holy Ground".  Play the video here.

In anticipation of Hurricane Laura's landfall, Rev. Dr. Jim Gill has recorded a Mid-Week Meditation entitled "Pep Talk".  He has also included a link to one of his original songs called "Make Disciples".

​Our new interim pastor, Rev. Dr. Jim Gill, has provided these children's worship bulletins, which track Sunday's sermon.  Two are for youngsters aged 3 to 6, and two are for children aged 7 to 12.  Thank you, Jim!

Today, our worship service was led by Music Director Ryan Cole.  Ryan contacted members of the congregation, who recorded short video clips about their favorite hymns.  What a joy it was to see those familiar faces! See this special service here.

We said goodbye to Cassandra just a just few short months ago.  Now we are saying another difficult farewell to Reverend Helen Rose Moore.  Her last worship service with us was this past Sunday, 8/16/2020 – you can find her lovely and very heart-felt message to our congregation here.  Reverend Jim Gill will be serving as our Interim Pastor beginning 8/30/2020.

In a sense, all our pastors are interim pastors.  They inherit a pulpit from a predecessor and eventually hand it on to someone else.  This is normal, but not easy.  Our pastors are links in a chain stretching back 2,000 years into the past - and, God willing, extending equally far into the distant future.

On August 2, 2020, Reverend Helen Rose Moore celebrated communion with the congregation of Woodforest Presbyterian Church.  Her sermon was titled, "Do You Believe in Magic?", and she discussed the difference between magic and miracles.  The service can be found here.  And yes, if you listen closely, you can hear Ryan playing the theme from Star Wars as a bridge between hymns!
