CIVILITY is defined as "claiming and caring for one's own identity, needs, and beliefs without degrading someone else's in the process." Reverend Tomas Spath and Reverend Cassandra Dahnke, our former pastors, founded the Institute for Civility in Government. Together, they have long advocated civility as crucial to fostering community.
Dahnke and Spath take participants to Washington DC, where they learn the process of civil discourse and personally see their government in action on social justice issues of their choice.
