What Does Bible Study Look Like in 2022?
The Covid Pandemic Threat Level for Harris County is currently Low/Green. At this level, residents are instructed to "stay up-to-date with Covid-19 vaccines and get tested if symptoms develop." Our contact tracing sheets show that most worshipers are fully vaccinated; accordingly, Woodforest Presbyterian Church is resuming our pre-pandemic activities. We remain vigilant to the development of new variants, and will don masks if necessary to protect each other. We continue to practice proper hand sanitation.

Mid-Week Meditations are broadcast by Rev. Karen Estes every Wednesday on Facebook. These videos run about four minutes long and contain a scripture passage and a brief message. Previous Mid-Weed Meditations can be found here.

The ADULT CLASS meets at 11 am Sunday mornings in person as well as on Facebook Live. The class is currently studying the Apostles. A weekly study guide contains outline, references, maps, etc. Request a copy of the weekly study guide by contacting Pastor Karen at [email protected]. Previous class sessions can be found here.

The WOMEN'S CIRCLE & LUNCH BUNCH meets for Bible study (both in-person and broadcast) at 10:30 am on the third Wednesday of every month. Lunch Bunch follows at noon, including a meal and sometimes a speaker or field trip. The meetings are livestreamed on Facebook Live.
In 2024-2025, the Women's Circle is learning about "Let Justice Roll Down" by Patricia K. Tull. She encourages us to seek God's call to care for neighbors and nature.

What Comes Next?

We look forward to resuming our DINE OUT DINNERS AND ADULT STUDY GROUP. When allowed by pandemic coditions, we meet at 6:00 pm on the first Wednesday of every month for DINE OUT DINNER (an inexpensive family-style meal) which is served in the fellowship hall. At 7:00 pm, the ADULT STUDY GROUP follows the Dine-Out Dinner. You may attend either the dinner or the class, or both together.
In a small group setting, the Adult Study Group discusses Bible studies such as "Glory Happening - Finding the Divine in Everyday Places" by Kaitlin Curtice. Glory Happening is a book of stories and prayers that remind us to take a closer look at our everyday circumstances, to find the magical beauty in everyday experiences.
