What Does Bible Study Look Like in 2020?

Harris County is currently in Threat Level One (red). Masks are required to prevent and control community spread. Everyone is encouraged to "Stay Safe" at home, except for purchasing essentials such as groceries and prescriptions.
Online Bible study is provided by Rev. Dr. Jim Gill's in his Wednesday night meditations. These weekly devotionals are broadcast on YouTube from Jim's study at home. Here are some examples:

What Comes Next?
When we resume meeting in-person, the classes and topics below give examples of some of our typical Bible Study programs.

The TRADITIONAL ADULT CLASS is reading "He Chose the Nails - Feasting on the Word - What God Did to Win Your Heart" by Max Lucado. This Lenten study invites us to... "Linger on the hill of Calvary. Listen as the nails, the timber, the cheap wine and the thorns tell you what God did to win your heart."

The WOMEN'S CIRCLE & LUNCH BUNCH meets for Bible study at 10:30 am on the third Wednesday of every month. Lunch Bunch follows at noon, including a meal and sometimes a speaker or field trip.
In 2019, the Women's Circle is delving into God's presence, comfort and commitment through studying "God's Promise - I Am With You" by Amy Poling Sutherlun. The book takes readers on a journey from the Old Testament to the New, and beyond.

At 6:00 pm on the first Wednesday of every month, DINE OUT DINNER (an inexpensive family-style meal) is served in the fellowship hall. At 7:00 pm, the ADULT STUDY GROUP follows the Dine-Out Dinner. You may attend either the dinner or the class, or both together.
In a small group setting, the Adult Study Group is discussing "Glory Happening - Finding the Divine in Everyday Places" by Kaitlin Curtice. Glory Happening is a book of stories and prayers that remind us to take a closer look at our everyday circumstances, to find the magical beauty in everyday experiences.
