What a wonderful day we had! In addition to celebrating our congregation's 62nd birthday, we were able to honor retired pastor Cassandra Dahnke in person! Cassandra retired during the pandemic, and we were never able to say our farewells... until now! What a blessing it was to see so many familiar faces. Yes, we needed more chairs for everyone - but we were still observing Covid precations. Together, we took a trip down photo-memory lane, followed by a fabulous musical tribute called "In This Very Room" by Ryan and his friend Cheri. Cassandra spoke to all of us... Then we all adjourned to sign Cassandra's memory book and to enjoy a Mediterranean luncheon (yum!) on the back patio. And to top it off, the weather was perfect. Storm clouds loomed, but the rain held off until the picnic was finished.
Thank you, Cassandra for all your love and devotion! You touched so many lives during your years at Woodforest Presbyterian Church.

What better way to spend our annual Church Celebration then to give thanks for the ministry of our longest-serving pastor. The pandemic has postponed Cassanda Dahnke's retirement party time-and-again. But on Sunday, November 21st we will finally get to say our fond farewells. If the weather is nice we will even make it a picnic! There will be a time for sharing, so think of your favorite memory of Cassandra. This is also the time for members to add a cross to the entrance wall, if they have not already done so.
The Bloodmobile will be collecting donations of blood at Woodforest Presbyterian Church on November 28, 2021. The collection will begin at 9:30 in the morning, so plan on giving before (or after) worship services. Giving blood is truly the gift of life!
