COMMUNION AT WOODFOREST DURING THE PANDEMIC
At the last Session meeting we discussed implementing communion in worship once again. Many folks have told me of the loss they feel in their hearts because they have not had communion in months. I feel it too. However, we are also mindful of the rise COVID-19 cases again and must be faithful to our ordination vows to promote the welfare of the people. This does not mean communion cannot happen. This is what we propose:
We recognize that this is not the service to which we are accustomed. But we also believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is present as we celebrate together. The manner in which we are served is not where the mystery lies. It is in the power of the Holy Spirit which transforms us into the Body of Christ on earth as we share the bread and wine in Jesus’ name. We pray that you will join us in doing this with joy! Rev. Helen Rose
