Best laid plans... We had scheduled our first in-person potluck dinner for August 29, 2021 but the recent Covid surge made us cancel that event. Instead, Plan B was to make BBQ Chicken Dinners to go. Yum!

Wow! Our annual School Supply drive was the best ever! Many thanks to those who donated all those crayons, markers, and backpacks as well as checks and cash! This year, our school supplies went to the students at Cloverleaf Elementary School. Our prayers go out to all our young people, wishing them a happy and healthy school year.
Some of our congregation are gluten-sensitive, and we have always provided them with separate gluten-free communion wafers. But recently, we asked ourselves... why should those worshipers be singled out? The answer is - they shouldn't. So we have decided to serve ALL worshipers with gluten-free bread, signifying both our unity in Christ and our love for our neighbors!
In response to the worsening Covid 19 surge, the Session of Woodforest Presbyterian Church voted to resume wearing masks inside the church building. Our contact-tracing records show that almost all worship attendees are fully vaccinated. But "break through" cases are increasingly common, and we decided that the "Love Thy Neighbor" thing means taking this extra step to keep each other healthy. Stay safe, people!
On Saturday, June 26, 2021, the Institute for Civility in Government held a "meet and greet" luncheon at Woodforest Presbyterian Church. The purpose was to introduce church and Institute members to Eliah Thomas, the new Director of Programs and Development. So good to see Cassandra and Tomas again!
Hooray! Our ace teacher Marjorie has moved back to Houston just in time for the Adult Sunday School Class to resume. Marjorie and her group are delving deeply into the Book of Exodus. The class meets at 11:00 am every Sunday, and you are welcome to participate in person or on Facebook Live!
After finding the Breastplate of Justice, the Shield of Faith, and the Helmet of Salvation, our brave Knights were sent back to their own kingdoms and castles, remembering always to "be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his power!"
Join us on Facebook Live while the Knights of North Castle explore a quest for the King’s Armor. Vacation Bible School is being held at Woodforest Presbyterian Church on June 6th, 7th and 8th, 2021, from 6 to 8pm.
